Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. As a child Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by many people in America. It was in her ninth grade that she gained confidence after being highly praised in an audition. Not only did it boost her confidence but her dreams transformed. When she was 22, she graduated from the New York's Julliard School. As she was turning 23 she began her career on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, at 23 years old, her movie debut was You've got mail. The biggest success of her career came with her portrayal of The Lady Of The Lake on Spamalot's initial Broadway production. Not only did she receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by the critics. Following that she was made the lead character the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. A well-known performer, she also has released an album and a musical. In her role as an activist, she strives in the cause of LGBT equality.
