Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her early Broadway productions include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors and actors in stage and on screen throughout her entire career. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working on the film of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film will be released in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford, who will appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton director Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the leading the show. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. Ashford was the main character in two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. Ashford is an Denver native who now divides her time between Los Angeles.
